Eve Air Mobility has published its proposed airworthiness criteria for public scrutiny, which propels the eVTOL aircraft certification process into the public consultation phase.

The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has now unveiled these criteria; becoming the latest milestone in the certification process.

It also serves to highlight the considerable progress achieved in the development of Eve’s eVTOL aircraft.

ANAC Airworthiness Criteria

ANAC’s recently unveiled airworthiness criteria marks a significant stride in Eve’s eVTOL certification odyssey.

Open for public consultation until mid-February 2024, these criteria underscore the transparency and collaborative nature of the certification process.

This move not only aligns the industry but also sets the stage for global acknowledgment.

Path to Certification

Post the public consultation period, ANAC will meticulously analyze feedback, potentially refining the criteria to shape the final certification basis.

Once finalized, Eve and ANAC will shift focus to the crucial aspect of compliance to secure eVTOL certification.

Luiz Valentini, Chief Technology Officer of Eve, emphasizes the importance of this step, highlighting the alignment within the industry and across certification authorities.

Eve initiated the formal process of obtaining a Type Certificate for its eVTOL with ANAC in February 2022.

This process closely follows procedures for securing a “special class category” aircraft Type Certificate, ensuring adherence to Brazil’s Civil Aviation Regulations and specified criteria.

FAA Type Certificate Validation

Eve’s global aspirations took a giant leap as it formalized Type Certificate validation with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) earlier this year.

Actively pursuing concurrent validation, Eve is positioning itself for international recognition, showcasing its commitment to meeting the highest aviation standards.

Innovation and Urban Air Mobility

Eve’s eVTOL project embraces a holistic approach, collaborating with entities like ANAC to pioneer advancements in urban air transportation.

With a dedicated pursuit of efficiency, Eve aims to deliver a safe, sustainable alternative for urban commuters.

The company’s commitment extends beyond mere certification, focusing on evolving design and capabilities while seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology.
