A Norwegian flight enroute to Lisbon from Copenhagen has declared an emergency in the last few moments.

Norwegian flight D83616, operated by a Boeing 737-800 declared an emergency, squawking transponder code 7700 after descending to 10,000 feet while transitting French airspace.

Following the emergency declaration, flight D83616 has continued flight at the reduced altitude of 10,000 feet and is presently in the region to the north-east of Paris in a holding procedure.

The flight’s intentions at this stage are not clear. The rapid descent to 10,000 feet from cruising altitude to 10,000 feet may suggest a pressurisation problem, though this is still unconfirmed.
